SURREY (NEWS 1130) – You better pack the car and your patience if you plan on heading to and from the US this BC Day long weekend.
Construction is beginning at the Peace Arch border which is expected to last all month and which is likely to cause a lot of headaches for people trying to pass the crossing.
The temporary construction began yesterday at the Douglas port of entry. The Canada Border Services Agency says two northbound lanes will be closed and the agency warns it could lead to increased wait times. The two NEXUS lanes will stay open but traffic may be re-directed.
The CBSA says to help cut down on your wait time and potential frustration, you’re being asked and encouraged to go to another crossing like Aldergrove or Huntingdon.
As always, NEWS 1130 Traffic will get you where you need to go with updates every 10 minutes on the ones and traffic alerts to get you there on time.
