The game was scheduled to take place Tuesday in the town of Zug, Switzerland, but Swiss defenceman Christian Marti tested positive for the virus. In place of the exhibition match, Canada will play an intra-squad game instead.
Led by Eric Staal, Team Canada begins preliminary round play on Thursday, Feb. 10, against Germany (8:10 a.m. ET). Canada has won gold in three of the past five Olympic men’s hockey tournaments.
